There’s only one Original Slinky Brand Generations of children and adults have loved playing with Slinky. This classic metal spring toy walks downstairs, alone or in pairs, and makes a slink-ity sound. First invented by mechanical engineer Richard James in 1943 during an experiment with tension coils. James accidentally dropped a spring on the floor and watched as it began to “walk.” Two years later, he introduced his walking spring toy in Gimbels Department Store, and the Slinky immediately sold out. Since its debut, over 300 million Slinkys have been sold worldwide. In 2000, this classic toy was inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame. Slinky is fun for a girl or a boy ages 5 and up. Everyone loves a Slinky.

I highly recommended my sister loved using it, although she bent it a little too far and it was like a little Ben, so just don’t bend it so far but I have recommend this. This is so fun. It’s very nice and it has a hard time getting tangled, which is perfect for playtime.

It didn't work for long on the shepherd's hook feeder. These slinkies are cheap and they're made as toys. Squirrels managed to stretch the Slinky out. After that they were basically able to use it like stairs. 🤣

**Q: does it walk down stairs**
A: No, it does not. It seems to be quite a bit smaller in diameter than the old ones and there was not enough ength to carry it forward. Unless your stair treads are very narrow, you won't be able to get it to walk down.

**Q: how many coils does this slinky has?**
A: I counted 77 coils. Each is 2.5 inch in diameter.  When compressed it is 2.25 inches long. Not long enough to perform as the original slinky

**Q: Why is a 2 pack $56.37?**
A: Yes, I was charged 49.99 for shipping!

**Q: does it work on (thickly) carpeted stairs?**
A: Yes, as long as the stairs are short enough. Its likely that the carpet won't be the issue as much as the length of your stairs.
