ALSO you MUST hold the platforms up against the pole as shown in the directions and tighten, then lower to be in place. If you either have it upside down or try to screw them in with the shelves down the holes won't align!! IF the screws aren't going in easily, you are doing one of those two things wrong!! I built two of these today. Struggled for half an hour trying to get ONE shelf on the first one, once these two instructions clicked with me, it all went together smoothly and easily! Saves so much room and you don’t have to drill/damage your walls. Everything WILL fit together, but you must put it together correctly. Take your time reading the instructions and looking at the photos. You can not install the shelves in their normal position. You have to install them flipped up. Just look at the holes and line them up! I do think this is overpriced. It’s not the most stylish, nor the best materials, but it’s sturdy.
