BIG MISTAKE! For the 9+ years I owned this fabulous all-in-one printer, I had never experienced one problem with it. Initially, I replaced the cartridge and was able to print about 7-8 pages, but then received a message saying there was something wrong with the cartridge and it needed it to be replaced again. Replacing this new cartridge with another new cyan, my printer still wouldn’t work, giving me a “General Print Error” message and saying there was an “Ink System Failure”. Spending hours on the HP Support website, reading suggested fixes and watching YouTube videos to troubleshoot, I concluded it was probably due to a clogged nozzle and elected to clean the printhead by soaking it in a very warm water bath -- but it didn’t fix the problem. (Through all the reading, I also learned that when warned that a cartridge is running low on ink, one should plan to replace it fairly soon. Drawings showing that as the ink depletes, air can seep in to further dry the ink and cause the nozzle to clog.) A costly mistake that I won’t make again!!! Fixed my OfficeJet Pro 8160 *by R***V on September 18, 2023* My OfficeJet Pro 8610 started showing a "Printhead failed or missing" message last week so I replaced the printhead with this part and the printer works perfectly again. Kudos to HP for (1) making the head replaceable and (2) making it incredible simple to do. After installing the printhead and setup cartridges that came in the box, the printer immediately started the alignment process but nothing happened. The message just sat there on the printer screen for several minutes, the printer did nothing and the HP Smart app showed the printhead alignment was not completed. I unplugged the printer, waited 15 seconds, plugged it back in and the alignment process restarted and finished without issue.
