Solid build and great value for money. It couldn't suck up the water if I connected a hose to each end, had one hose in the water (inlet) and the other away, having the pump outside the water. It required immersion of the pump itself into water which is quite understandable - just as advertised. So I required only one hose - the outlet hose. The pump worked beautifully once immersed, with a strong jet for its size. I should give it 5 stars but for a bad/no documentation. I can excuse the Chinese manufacturers, but texts in the manual/specifications of a product marketed in the UK should be in intelligible English language.
