The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame bass player started working with EMG founder Rob Turner in 2011, looking to recreate the classic bass tones he had in Black Sabbath’s early days. As Geezer and Black Sabbath moved from studio to touring in 2013 the final component of getting the classic Geezer tone was in play - a passive pickup with a truly vintage tone an feel. To recapture Geezer’s early Black Sabbath tone, it meant a new EMG vintage style passive P & PJ design with a few modern touches. The all solderless P set uses Alnico V pole pieces and custom wound coils for just the right amount of punch and grit. The J (PJ set) also uses Alnico 5 poles and features two custom wound split-coils. This eliminates the noise and hum usually associated with early 70’s bass pickups and allows for more power and volume than any other standard single coil J - creating a remarkable balance between the P and the J. The result is an unmistakable early Geezer Butler bass tone with deep, tight low end that you hear on tunes like “Iron Man,” “War Pigs,” and “Paranoid,” just like 1970’s. “I never felt comfortable giving my name to any other pickups, but this time these have blown me away.” - Geezer Butler ## Features - Geezer Butler signature bass pickup set - Passive pickup with a vintage tone - Features Alnico V pole pieces and custom wound coils for just the right amount of punch and grit - Designed to recreate classic bass tones in Black Sabbath's early days - Solderless install system ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00J8POGWQ | | Back Material Type | Basswood | | Best Sellers Rank | #11,343 in Musical Instruments ( See Top 100 in Musical Instruments ) #4 in Bass Guitar Pickups & Pickup Covers | | Body Material Type | Basswood | | Brand | EMG | | Brand Name | EMG | | Color | Black | | Connector Type | 6.35mm Jack | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 244 Reviews | | Finish Type | Varnished" or "Lacquered | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00654330215063 | | Hand Orientation | right | | Included Components | Solderless install system | | Instrument | Bass Guitar | | Instrument Size | Einheitsgröße | | Item Dimensions | 8 x 5 x 2 inches | | Item Type Name | EMG GZRP Geezer Butler P Pickup | | Item Weight | 0.3 kg | | Item dimensions L x W x H | 8 x 5 x 2 inches | | Manufacturer | E M G | | Manufacturer Part Number | EM943600 | | Material Type | Stainless Steel | | Model Name | 4646 | | Model Number | EM943600 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Strings | 4 | | Operation Mode | Manual | | Set Name | GZR-P Geezer Butler Pickup Set | | Size | Einheitsgröße | | Sound Profile | Vintage, punchy, gritty, deep, tight low end | | String Material Type | Alloy Steel | | Top Material Type | Basswood | | UPC | 654330215063 654330214028 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | 2 years. | ## Product Details - **Back Material Type:** Basswood - **Brand:** EMG - **Color:** Black - **Finish Type:** Varnished" or "Lacquered - **Instrument:** Bass Guitar - **Item Weight:** 0.3 kg - **Item dimensions L x W x H:** 8 x 5 x 2 inches - **Size:** Einheitsgröße - **String Material Type:** Alloy Steel - **Top Material Type:** Basswood ## Images ![Geezer Butler Signature P Bass Guitar Pickup Set - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61nCkozbUGL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Style** options. ## Frequently Bought Together - EMG Geezer Butler Signature P Bass Guitar Pickup Set - Ernie Ball Regular Slinky Nickel Wound Bass Guitar Strings, 50-105 Gauge (P02832) - Hipshot KickAss High-mass Bass Bridge for 5-bolt Fender, Chrome --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/10028144-geezer-butler-signature-p-bass-guitar-pickup-set](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/10028144-geezer-butler-signature-p-bass-guitar-pickup-set) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-11-01*
