It would be nice if entire model were die cast, but as stated above, the model it quite sturdy. Packaging was poor, as the model was only placed in what appeared to be a box with no cover, then placed with the magazine in a plastic bag, which in turn was placed in a bubble envelope. While the model arrived without damage, the magazine has several creases and other evidence of wear from transport. If a smaller magazine had been included in similar packaging as the NCC 1701-A Hero ship, a would have been fine. I highly recommend the model, but don't expect the magazine to arrive unscathed.
