The main thing I wanted them for was to clip my small 30 inch x 40 inch blanket that I use for covering my lap and legs when I am sitting at my desk in my very cold home-office. I keep forgetting I have the small blanket over my legs, so When I stand up, it falls to the floor and ends up getting doggy hair all over it. With these clips, I attach an end to the blanket and the other end to my sweater or sweatshirt that I am wearing. When I stand up, if I forgot about the blanket, at least it does not fall to the floor. This idea works out great, except that the metal clips on these Elastic straps are so stiff that I have a super hard time opening them up! I have cut my fingers on the metal parts a few times already, so I am not too happy with that. I had my husband take a look at these clips to see if he could loosen them up a bit. He just said that maybe they would get a bit looser with usage, but that he thinks it's better that these hold tightly than for them to be too loose.
