What I thought was a product error was actually user error. I did not realize that I had a newer version of the hydro flask and this was meant for the older version. The company actually contacted me after my review and I told me how to find out what model I had and let me know that it was not made for the model I had purchased. On top of that they offered recommendations of their product that were meant for the model I had... and then above and beyond that they actually offered to send me a brand new model they had been working on as soon as it was available. At no cost to me! AMAZING!! I just received it in the mail today and put it on my bottle. It looks great and works wonderfully! Props to Gearproz. I will definitely buy from you guys again and I recommend this company to everyone.Did I get a dud? I was so happy when I received this paracord handle. I struggled a little bit getting it on, but it wasn't too hard. It seemed to always be sliding up on my bottle though and I was constantly pushing it down. I didn't think too much of it though, as it still seemed snug. Then the other day after getting out of my car and starting across the parking lot to go into work, juggling a bunch of things as I usually am, I hear this clank and I looked down in my hydro flask, my beautiful brand new hydro flask is on the ground. I originally had a 40oz bottle but I drink so much water that I needed something bigger. Getting a bigger bottle, I had to adjust to carrying more weight. The bottle itself is big, bulky, and hard to carry (especially with the wide mouth straw lid on it). I purchased the gearproz paracord handle in the color “mint” with the whistle and compass attached and it is amazing! I already love how much easier it is to lug my big water bottle around. The cord is thick and sturdy, definitely a better quality than any others I have seen. It was worth the extra $6 over competitors cords for the better cord that matches my bottle and lid.TIP: I saw a lot of reviews pointing out how hard it is to put on initially and I have a trick. Before putting your paracord on, set it out in the sun for 5-10 mins, this softens the outer rim and so that it is easier to manipulate getting it around the wide mouth of your bottle. This trick makes for a quick and easy installation. I had no troubles putting mine on myself (and I have extremely weak hands). It’s true, getting it on is the hardest part - I had to soak the plastic ring in some hot water for a few minutes to make it more maleable, but that’s also a good thing because it means it’s not going anywhere. It’s super secure, I’ve seen other makers try to create a product similar with JUST the paracord, and that frankly isn’t sturdy enough. The plastic ring is vital I think. It’s also cute as heck, the color of the cord matched the image which was nice. Because the cord fits around my arm, I can actually carry my bottle like a bag and hold more things in my hands which is my favorite part. (Trying to juggle it before I bought a hydrocord was actually how I ended up denting my hydro flask in the first place).
