I wore them to work on the first really rainy day anyway. They kept my feet very dry and warm. I am going to buy another pair for my regular walking shoes and keep the larger pair to protect my winter boots that are larger but not waterproof. I am a transportation driver and put these through a tough day on the job. I was in and out of puddles and running water in muddy driveways on pavement and concrete they proved to be sturdier than they looked. I typically wear a 7-7.5 athletic shoe with a very cushioned sole. I ordered a women's 7-8. The overshoe fits well. Not too snug or floppy. I would say they are very true to size. Thus far they've held up well.
