How to install? This is easy to install. Once you remove two small Torx screws, the trim panel pops loose along the bottom edge and flexes just enough to give access to the latch. Remove two triple-square bolts, an electrical connector, and the old part slides right out. Use the tab on the wireharness to release the electric plug, plug the new unit in, screw the 2 triple square bolts in, pop the plastic sheet's mountpoints back in. Easy-peasy. Saved a lot of money fixing this yourself with this part rather than taking the truck to the dealer.The material was not the same,but it worked and price was very good. To gain access to the latch, remove the two screws in the tailgate trim handle recesses, then pry off the trim along the bottom edge, releasing the 4 clips holding the bottom edge of the trim on - this is made easier by removing the clip-on panels in the trim behind the rear light clusters. Once the four clips are released, there is enough flex in the trim to gain access to the latch screws without removing the tailgate trim entirely.
