Many of the interior 12V lamps were burned out. I decided to replace the existing bulbs with LEDs. These were one of the two types I needed. They were very easy to replace. They fitted the sockets perfectly. They put out more light and a whiter light than the original. Since they use far less power the don't get so hot and don't use as much of my battery power. I like them. If this happens with half the bulbs, then the price is effectively doubled. Still too cheap to bother returning.The bulbs are not true 1157 type, 2-circuit bulbs. Rather, they signify "brake" or "turn signal" operation by brightening the entire collection of LED elements. When running as simply tail lights, the lights are not particularly bright (NOT "dim") but all the LED elements are lit. When brake pedal or turn signal is activated, the LEDs glow brighter.True 1157 bulbs have two separate filaments for the two circuits. True 1157 LED lights use two sets of LED elements to mimic the two separate circuits.
