These tape measures are perfect for this task! All three tapes snap back into place easily. The leather isn't super top-quality, but it looks good and meets my expectations considering the great price. Some reviewers have said their tapes don't measure accurately - perhaps they aren't taking into account the tab at the end of the tape and the half-inch of tape before the zero inches/cm mark. I wasn't sure I wanted the neon green tape, but it has turned out to be my favorite since it is easy to find against black shelving.
