Product Description Solenoid Lock for Doors and Cabinet Solenoids are basically electromagnets: they are made of a big coil of copper wire with an armature (a slug of metal) in the middle. When the coil is energized, the slug is pulled into the center of the coil. This makes the solenoid able to pull from one end. This solenoid in particular is nice and strong and has a slug with a slanted cut and a good mounting bracket. It's basically an electronic lock, designed for a basic cabinet or safe or door. Specifications Voltage: DC12V Power:9.6W Wire length:10cm/3.93inch Current: 0.6 A, maximum :0.8 A Size: 54 * 41 * 27 mm/2.12 * 1.61 * 1.06 inch

Review: Build quality - Product looks good. But the moving part(latch/tongue) is not as strong as it looks. It grabs to the brass insert while moving back and front. The clearance is given probably so that the electromagnet can pull it easily. But if anything can be done to make it better would make it superb.. And the lead wire is literally thin as human hair. The gauge of the wire definitely needs an upgrade. The one provided is not at all sufficient.
