It allowed me to add an extra set of cabinets, and in effect increased my kitchen space. I was a little concerned at first, because I like a divided sink better, but it has been working out fine. The sink is deep enough for my large pots that hold pasta water. Also, I like that it comes with a tray on the bottom for my pots and dishes to rest on.
