The material it's made of is plastic #1, PETE, or polyethylene terephthalate. Depending on how much you do research on this plastic material, you get mixed results with some saying it's safe, others, not so much...The bottle does say on the bottom "Not for hot liquids", so keep that in mind.The bottle cap is pretty good, and seals the inside properly from leaks. The gentle flow when drinking from it is a nice feature.All in all, for $13.99, it's pretty good. I wouldn't throw it in the dishwasher though.---UPDATE 7/18:The closeable cap that seals water from leaking broke from the one of the plastic hinges—effectively turning this into an open cup. I had closed the lid around 75 - 100 times before it broke, so clearly not the best design... I gave this product 4 stars initially, but I am now downgrading my review to 1 star since it doesn't function like a portable water bottle anymore.UPDATE 7/18 #2:The review has now been given 3 stars. The initial review was 4 stars, but that was downgraded to 1 star after the product's cap broke off. However, the seller, "100 Points", had given me a full refund (it's been a lot longer for the refund to be processed by Amazon, so already they have went above and beyond). They clearly stand behind their product. I was very impressed by their customer service. But, since this is a review for the product, and not the seller:This review now has 3 stars, but I'm still disappointed that the cap broke off in the first place. Unfortunately I had an issue with the first one cracking when dropped a couple feet onto my gym's floor (shock absorbent rubber).The seller personally reached out to me, apologized for my experience, and sent me a replacement. I've been using my replacement for a few months now and haven't had any issues whatsoever. It feels more durable than my first bottle.
