Purchased for a wedding! Very sturdy. Only downside - expect the top plate in every package to have a split or crack in. It's not the company's fault because they package everything VERY well. If you buy these plates your most likley going to have to risk an entire set coming in broken. After reading the reviews in depth I realized this has happened to quite a few customers. Just keep in mind that you will be shorted and not have complete sets when more than a couple come in broken.
