I sprayed them with peroxide and let them dry which fixed the mold problem, but it was still really gross. The metal screw at the top that allows you to tighten the hoop is really hard to move and there appears to be some weird sticky residue in the threading. I got blisters trying to tighten the 6 inch hoop. The metal at the top of the hoop also comes covered in blue plastic that you can't entirely peel off and it looks really ugly. I like to display my embroidery in the hoop sometimes and I don't want ugly blue plastic showing. Other than those things I guess they work fine for embroidery and they are cheap, but I wouldn't recommend this brand to anyone. It shouldn't be this hard to make a set of embroidery hoops, y'all need to get your act together. ### ⭐⭐ Not very sturdy *by B***E on Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2020* I purchased this to use for counted cross stitch on aida cloth. The metal screw tighteners are very flimsy and you can't get it tight enough to get your fabric taut because the metal parts just bend. Also, the wood is not smooth and is actually splintered in places. These might be okay for embroidery on a light fabric, but for counted cross stitch, it doesn't work. Don't recommend.
