This is a good quality instrument, very well made. It plays beautifully and is a lot of fun to play.Inside it has a brass ring which lifts the drumskin a few mm improving the action and tone and my playing. I upgraded from the AB-38, which doesn't have the tone ring, and is tinnier sounding and without the super action of this one, but also a lot of fun
