They are not delicate wine glasses. I like that I feel I can use them for wine or for other drinks too as a goblet. They are good sturdy glasses which is good because we have a lot of young adults in our family. If you are looking for elegant crystal type glasses these are not what you are looking for. Other reviewers mentioned that they have a cloudy appearance when they first arrive. This is true. The cloudiness makes the color seem muted and lack-luster. I ran them through the dishwasher when they arrived and they came out beautiful! I have a beautiful set of white dishes and these add some color to my table!Follow up review: I have now owned these glasses for almost 2 years and I use them daily for water, milk, juice or whatever. The color has remained intact with no peeling or flaking despite the fact that I consistently washed them in the dishwasher for the first year (but now I no longer have a dishwasher). I am very pleased with this set of glasses.
