The problems I have are that the blade catches in the interrupted surface on the stone where the grit is labeled, because the groove is too big. Also, the base and the plastic border around the stone stick out too much to get right up to the edge if you don't have a big sharpening choil. Overall okay, but I would probably get a small DMT stone instead in the future. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 1200 Grit? *by L***1 on Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2019* This stone did a fantastic job removing metal but the 1200 grit side seemed much coarser than it's rating and the knife edge felt pretty jagged when testing on paper. However, I have a 3000 diamond stone that quickly smoothed out the edge and the knife easily passed the 'paper test'. (Hold a piece of paper with one hand so it's hanging down and gently press the knife down at an angle on one edge of the paper. If the knife is sharp, it'll easily and cleanly cut into the paper.)After a bit a research I think it's because the diamonds embedded in this stone are not monocrystals and have jagged points sticking up. After a bit of use those points will break off and the grit will be more like 1200.Oh, Since it's diamond coated you don't need to exert a lot of pressure which is both unsafe and can cause the knife edge to catch on the stone damaging the edge. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good stone and a great price. *by T***T on Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2018* This is a great set of stones for not a lot of money.
