Fantastic shoes for general riding, as well as DH, or even just wearing around town. They are a little heavy, but they are also very well built (my last pair lasted me for 3 years and still has some life left).I am happy to deal with the extra weight since they are so comfortable and burly. They offer great protection, and are good for extended Hike-a-bikes if your adventures call for them. I have kicked large rocks at a full clip on my DH bike, and barely felt them bounce of my toes.If you're running these clipless, I would recommend pedals with a cage around them though. No I didn't destroy the first set. The rainy season is here and I needed a second pair so I always have a dry one to put on.I looked at various other ones, and ended "doubling down" on this one. I ride flats with them, but I find the rigid soles helpful.
