She's always gone to a salon for her braids, but to save some money, I decided to learn how to do feed-ins so I could do her hair for her. I had little to no experience selecting the right hair. All I knew was what color she wanted and to buy pre-stretched.First off, I was impressed by the amount of hair in each pack. I used way less than I thought I would. The hair was soft and tangle free. I soaked it in water and ACV to remove any chemicals that may cause itchiness and it dried quickly.As a beginner, i found the hair good to work with. My daughter wanted jumbo(ish) size braids, so we did 14 on her head. The first thing she said when I finished was that it didn't feel heavy at all.As for the hot water setting, you have to be really careful. The first time I braided, we curled the ends using flexirods and dipped into hot water. Some of the braids shrunk a bit because the water was too hot, but yet the curls didn't really hold. The second time (picture attached), I made sure the water was not quite as hot (but hot enough that you didn't want to keep your fingers in it for more than a second or two) and all was good.
