They claim it will fit on any 3 to 6 gallon bucket, which is true, more or less. It doesn't fit tightly - or securely - on a "pickle bucket" I got from a fast food place; but it does work. I advise you get this first, then find a bucket at Lowe's Hardware or Home Depot that it will securely snap onto, and buy that. I weigh around 230 to 240 pounds, a friend who also tried it out weighs around 300 pounds; it is comfortable to use and sturdy enough to support either of us. I like having it for those late night or early morning "calls of nature", so I don't have to go out in the dark to find either a bathroom or a safe spot to go. I'm in the process of setting up a "permanent" campsite, and this will be part of the gear I use there, for inclimate weather and such. You can buy those bags that gell the waste, or use small trash bags, or just put a layer of cheap kitty litter in the bottom and add more after each go - any of those options or a mix of them will help control odors and make cleaning it out easier. A mix of sawdust, kitty litter and baking soda works too, absorbing liquids and smells. The seat is cheap. The lid may break off at the hing. But.. This is a quick, simple, cheap, working solution to an issue.If you are a large person, you may not fit. I am 6'2" 180#, and I can use it. The seat snaps tight to a standard 5 gallon type bucket. The lid does not snap tight. but it does seal enough. Because of this and the nature of what you are doing, and the time of year, "condensation" appears on the underside of the lid. I did put it on the bucket and sat on it. It's pretty cool and held me up. It was supposed to be for my husband on the rig but I decided to keep it cuz he breaks everything. He said he would rather use the pool noodle on the bucket anyways. I'm not sure why. I should buy another one so we both could have one, then he would probably take it. I think he didn't want to see me frown when he told me he broke it, LOL cuz seriously he truly does break or lose everything.
