We only needed it to carry a simple folder back and forth from preschool for my almost 2 years old, but it is not large enough for that. Based on the demensions listed I knew it was going to be on the small side, but because of the curving of the top it cannot hold a rectangular folder. The size of the back fits well on my child's back. We are still deciding if we will keep or not since my son is enjoying wearing his airplane around.
