I bought it because it can sit on the dashboard of my car and charge. I bought it so I could sit by the pool and soak up free energy at the same time.The day I bought it, it rained. It rained the next day too. I was SO disappointed. The charger did not charge.Now that it's sunny, I can say that it does charge. SLOWWWLY. . .I'd say it takes two days with average sun. I love the pure automatic operation of the device. No switches to operate, no batteries to install. Just put it in the sun, or plug it into a usb port and charge it. It comes with cords and adapters that will work with many cell phones, and will connect it to charge it with usb. It does not include usb to micro usb cable for charging blackberry and other devices that use a micro usb connector. Just make sure that you buy one when you are buying this. You can get one on Amazon for about $1.50. I just leave the charger on a window sill that gets sun for most of the day, and in 2 days it's ready to go. I can't wait to take it camping, and see how it does. An unbeatable deal for less than $10.00. This device has a 800 mah battery, so it may not fully charge some devices. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Small capacity, but high quality *by M***I on Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2012* This is a well built charger, but the capacity is too small to be useful and the solar panel recharges very slowly. Attached to my smartphone, I receive at most a 50% charge. The solar panel is tiny and will take over a week to fully recharge the pack. I recharge the pack via USB and use the solar panel only as a way to keep the pack fully charged.This product has huge DIY modification potential. With basic electrical knowledge and soldering skills, the stock battery pack (a 1 cell 3.7v lipo, a 900mah model in my case) can be replaced with a battery of much higher capacity. I use a 5000mah pack that provides several full recharges to my smartphone.
