But don't take my word for it. I only mention the 1000mA as the review on 'Techmoan' pointed out the camera needs this and hence might not charge from laptops. **Q: Hi. Is it effective at capturing images at 20 metres? Is it fully waterproof & easy to operate underwater?** A: Used on a diving holiday in Egypt and worked really well took it to 20 metres no problem and was great as was able to see through back screen as to what I was videoing .Unfortunately I lost it on my 2nd dive but was definitely worth the money. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Entry Level Camera *by R***O on 13 August 2015* I was toying between getting this and the more expensive GoPro for filming a lot of running and OCR events that I participate in. I ended choosing the SJ4000 due to the reviews and the substantially lower price.First of, everything you get in the pack is absolutely amazing. There's all different types of mounts, spare cases (waterproof ones too), straps and screws. So if you ever break or lose a part, you're bound to have a spare there.The camera records in any resolution you want 720, 1080 and between 30 or 60 FPS. It records all footage in segments of 3 minutes rather than just 1 large file, but this isn't a problem.The problem I have is the files are recorded in MOV format which is not recognised by a Windows pc (but is so by Apple), so you'll need to download a codec for your computer which is always risky as they tend to be full of spyware etc.For editing, triming and making actual videos, there is no processing software available for the SJ4000 like there is for GoPro. This is a huge negative as the GoPro Suite is absolutely fantastic for editing videos. Instead I have to use Windows Live Movie Maker (with codec downloaded) to process any videos, and the quality really seems to suffer.I bought a few extra harnesses with this, the chest and head harness. Out of the 2, the head harness is definitely the better one to use.So overall, this is a great entry level camera for someone who is thinking about getting an action cam. Mainly due to the price being so cheap. You'll get great shots and footage from it, even though it would massively benefit from a similar GoPro video editor for it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Its light and compact and pretty easy to set up *by D***E on 14 August 2015* After a couple of near misses cycling to work I was looking for a camera that would provide clear footage if needed but I wasn't prepared to pay £200-£300 on a Go-Pro. After some searching I came across this camera and have to say I've been very impressed. It was within my budget and offered my everything that I would need it for. Its light and compact and pretty easy to set up. I've been using it about a week and apart from getting used to the different settings etc I've no issues with it. I'm not an expert on frame rates etc and what's good or bad but the video picture quality is good enough for me. If you want more professional/higher quality footage then the Go-Pro would probably give you that but if its just for casual use then the Qumox is fine. I tried it today in the rain and the waterproof cover worked with no problems. My only gripe if you like is the manual it is a bit basic, it doesn't tell you what all the different functions are/mean but a quick search of the internet and I had found the answers. Don't let that put you off though, I'm really impressed by it and think its well worth the money. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Brilliant!! *by C***Z on 31 March 2015* I was looking at the GoPro cameras, however i'm not Jenny Jones so couldn't really justify spending so much money on a camera that wouldn't ever film something spectacular. Then the SJ4000 appeared and i was intrigued.....I have mates with GoPro cameras so i could see the differences back-to-back and while there are some differences, i'm not sure which one was actually "best". They're sort of identical just slightly differing in the colours. The SJ4000 (i got a Qumox as i wanted a brand name, there are plenty of fakes out there) is a brilliant wee thing, which put up with a lot of abuse on holiday in France and captured some awesome snowy scenery in glorious HD. The video quality was superb, and all the included paraphernalia (which costs a lot and doesn't come with a GoPro) worked a treat! It was everything i was looking for at a fraction of the price, and knowing how heavy handed i can be i was a lot happier with the cheaper unit. If it broke/got lost i would buy another right away.Also of note is the fact that the GoPro software is free, although you have to change the files so it'll read them. And windows movie maker works a treat too- i was able to set the SJ4000 up to capture a brilliant time lapse of the recent solar eclipse! Well, ok so it only captured some heavy clouds getting slightly darker but hey at least they were very swooshy.Only drawback is that there is hardly and sound when the case is on, but i'm putting music over it anyway so if you can live with that i can heartily recommend an SJ4000. The one i got wasn't wifi either, as i couldn't see when i'd need it to be and still don't.
