I have had several cheaper alternatives which proved disappointing. This one works really well. The light is bright and leaves no shadows on the workpiece. The optics are clear with no noticeable distortion and the height is just about right for my use. As mentioned in other reviews the spring is a bit strong but I found my one stays in position with no problem. Would I recommend it? yes. In fact I am thing of buying another. Cm or Inch, please!** A: 120mm Diameter **Q: Does the head of this light swivel?** A: I bought this for my wife to help her crafting. I didn’t know if it would be suitable but once it was set up it proved very flexible. It pivots in its mount and has g good reach. The head also swivels for optimum positioning. The wife is delighted with it. **Q: How long are the arms?** A: Each arm is approximately 45cm long. **Q: how to release the tension so it stays down.** A: Looking at previous reviews on this it's a problem with this lamp. I'm finding it won't stay in place either and have nearly taken my face off a couple of times with it swinging back up! However I have noticed it has Allen Key slots at the joints? I'm guessing you can release the tension that way? I haven't tried it yet myself.
