Review: Heavy, well built. - I went through just about every similar thermometer on desertcart, and this is the one that stood out to me. From the pictures provided by the seller it looked like a well built solid product, and then it was delivered.. and it was much better than expected. It is heavy, appears to be sealed will and responds fast. Giving into my childlike nature, I held it in my hand, grasping it by the probe end. It went from the ambient temperature in my house (78, accurate on the face dial) to 94 degrees (external skin temp) verified by a thermo scanner. I know not exactly a scientific method, but accurate enough for me. The only thing I would change is maybe a longer probe to get deeper into the product. But in all honesty, after weighing the pros and cons for a couple of weeks on multiple products, this is the one I choose. I plan to buy another soon to monitor another part of my project.

**Q: What is the temperature range?**
A: 0-120 celsius 20-250 fahrenheit

**Q: where does the guage take the temperature at,inside the mash or steam above the mash?**
A: My mash kettle is setup so the thermometer is about four inches from the bottom. You want to be taking the mash temperature of the grain/water mass accurately.

**Q: Would this work above a still reflux column?  Or only in liquids?**
A: yes it will work It will read any temp. gas or liquids anything .

**Q: Can I add washer, gasket and locknut and mount it directly to my HLT or do I need a thermal well?**
A: I am no expert but I believe it should have the thermal wall so the heat does not transfer from the cylinder walls directly.
