The paper itself feels great and is lovely to mark on. I purchased one for a friend and she was taken back by how luxurious it looked and felt, she did not know how much I spent on it neither could she care it felt like as million bucks. The binding around the edges is tough and adds tons of character to this book. A true writer's pleasure. The only downfalls of this book are the embossed logo which I wish was smaller and better hidden, it is hard to tell in the pictures but very visible in hand. The other fault is the cord used to bind the book across the center, I believe it was a nylon stretchy material that did not feel congruent with the build quality throughout, I wish they would have included a nice small leather strap - nothing fancy just equal to the rest of the journal. For the price it has great character and is worth the value. If you are looking for something with a thick, heavy and high-quality leather – this is not it. I’m using it to document hunting and fishing trips that I’ve gone on with my young son so that I can give it to him one day.
