The dissapative tech was a bonus as I was also working with semi-high voltages in a wet environment. As far as keeping your foot and toe areas protected this shoe does a good job at it. The alloy toe feels solid and lightweight although overall the shoe is still a bit on the heavier side as far as safety shoes go but after you see how thick the shoe is you'll understand why. They 'were' effective at being waterproof up until recent months. Both shoes seem to somehow get moisture into the tip of the toe, I am not sure if this is because of bad stitch design or if it is because the rubber shoetip is starting to degrade but these guys will not be seeing any more mud puddles any time soon. As far as support goes the insoles that came with the shoes did not stay in place well and I had to modify them until I could get replacements. They do make and trap sweat in your shoes if you are someone who has sweaty feet as the waterproofing works both ways unfortunately, but its no different than wearing your boots.Overall if you need a decent, affordable shoe that will last a good while these are a great buy. They helped my feet stay as cool as possible at work for my 12 hour shifts on the hard concrete. The toe was effective at stopping minor equipment such as small forklifts and power jacks from crushing my toes so I am pleased with my purchase but I do hope they work on a better insole. I wonder if Amazon knows that this product is likely to be needed for work and therefore offers extra fast delivery. The shoe fits great. The sole does not have any arch support but thankfully, it can be replaced easily with another insole. I bought the black and grey which looks very non-discrete and low maintenance. It's bulkier than a running shoe but not as much as a hiking shoe. The leather upper should hold up better than nylon uppers. NB has a reputation for making shoes that are good for your feet so that's another reason for going with this shoe. I purchased another competing shoe but the fit and quality for NB was better. I expect to be walking around industrial environments in my profession so this shoe should serve me well for travel as well. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic slip resistance, but short lifespan *by J***S on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on April 26, 2023* I bought these for work in a machine shop with constantly oily floors and the slip resistance in this case is 10/10. Comfort is probably an 7/10, not terrible but I bought some insoles for them anyways. Lifespan however, is a solid 5/10. My first pair lasted just a little over a year before having to buy new ones due to the sides busting out and detaching from the sole, and that's literally from use only at work. These things live in my locker and I wear different shoes to and from work.
