The backlight issue, to me, is enough to make me go with a different one in the future.Update: The thermometer is a piece of crap. If I can't read it while it's in the food because the display will not stay lit, it's useless. Might as well just stick my finger in the food. I've returned to the cheap grocery store ones that I've found, that unbelievably have back lighting that stays on or has a button to turn it on and off, unlike this turd.
