My dog likes to jump on me and my wife everytime we pick up his leash to go for a walk. We had to fix this behavior since the wife now is pregnant and we were worried that he'd accidentally scratch our newborn when that behavior continous. The shock levels are from 0-100 so I started at 10 to keep it "low"; 5 was enough for him. As soon as he jumped on me, i shocked him and I felt bad 'coz it seemed to hurt him but he discontinued his act right away. I was amazed how quick he learned.He also hates cats and rodents and there are a few trees around where we live so needless to say, there are squirells running around every now and then. There are also some stray cats which he would chase down, pulling me along even if he had a spiked training collar on.When I took him outside he started to run off and i had to bump up the shock level to 7 and he turned around right away and came back to me.I have a 60+ lb PITBULLxLAB and shock level 7 was good enough for him. I felt bad for not following the instructions to start at level 1 since the levels go up to 100. Please do so to save you the heartache! We removed the covers and he now responds to a much lower power level.
