I sew for a local designer and I am now using this machine for the primary stitching. Cannot beat the price! I did a sampler of all of the stitches and it really does a super sweet job! **Q: Does anybody know if this a low shank machine?? Not really sure what that means but I know it has everything to do with the presser feet.** A: This machine (like almost all sewing machines made after the 1980s) uses snap-on feet which means you do not have to think about shank size because there is no shank on these feet. (The shank used to be the metal bit on the foot which attached onto the machine, usually needing to be screwed on. If you think of the flat part as the 'foot', then the shank was like an 'ankle'. Feet like these are only seen in much older machines (or in certain specialty machines and rarer models). **Q: need more detail on what it includes to do comparison..It says 21 feet but doesn't list them . a picture shows extended table is that included, etc** A: An extension to the sewing area is included. Its 15" long X 9" wide. This gives you 9 1/2" of extra support after assembly to the machine. You can slide this for fast or slow. I had started a project making drapes for my living/dining rooms and run into problems with my older Brother machine. I took it in to be cleaned and fixed and $125 layer it worked for a week then started acting up again. I decided the heck with it I would just get a simple Singer that I can use for what I see. Mostly clothing curtains, drapes and roman type window coverings. I hadn't even read all that came with this machine. I read the ratings trusted them and viola, wonderful easy sewing. Drapes are going very quickly now and I couldn't be happier with this machine. The price given all the extra's that came with it is incredible. You can't go wrong with this machine. I bought mine new because I have in the past not had good luck with reconditioned machines.
