It is not insulated and the water was warm in 90 degree weather in less than two hours. Lid also fits Kleen Kanteen narrow-neck bottles which is a nice bonus! Easy to sip through once you "crack the seal" by unscrewing slightly. Not 100% leak-proof when used with a Kleen Kanteen - if you hold the bottle upside-down or sideways with the spout closed a small drip escapes but that doesn't bother me. If only they sold the lids separately, I would get a few more to use for my kids' small Kleen Kanteens. I would (and have already) recommend this bottle! ### ⭐⭐ Needs a Redesign *by E***D on Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2015* I appreciate the affordability of this item, but my main issue is with the design of the cap. In order to use the interior straw for sipping water from the top, you have to unscrew the cap to allow for air displacement. It would have been better to have created an airhole in the cap so you don't have to always keep the cap loose. The folding straw on top is also very narrow, and does not allow much water through at once.
