Second one that I had exchanged worked well. Lock was secure. The lettering has large font and easy to read. Good rubber pads for gripping. Large clear button for retracting the tape measure. I would recommend when retracting the tape measure, hold the tape of the tape measure while pushing the retract button, so you dont damage the spring over time. It can also reduce the chance of the tape going crazy while going back into the unit. Review: NOT HEAVY DUTY Broke after a couple months - I have several measuring tapes and this was my favorite one when I initially bought it.
