I purchased in 2022 via Amazon - seller Lehman’s in Ohio. However, discovered when looking to purchase for a family member, it’s now sold by an import company. Then discovered that the OHSAY USA brand (available via Amazon) reports it is “the ONLY can opener made in the USA”. THEN, I discovered that the Ez-Duz-It can opener mfg by John J. Steuby company says it’s mfg in the USA (Hazelwood, MO I think). Not really sure if they both are or what (design is similar but not identical). I am very pleased with the Ez-Duz-It can opener BUT, I think I will consider the OHSAY USA if for no other reason than to compare. Sometimes it’s difficult to discern the truth without spending more time than I already have. **Q: Has anyone else had the issue with the opener just completely freezing up? I can't turn the handle, even if the gears aren't engaged with the blade.** A: I had mine freeze up due to it being run through the dishwasher by someone. All I had to do was apply a tiny bit of light oil, such as 3 in 1 oil and the can opener started to work just fine. I have had this can opener since Spring 0f 2013 and it is just starting to show some wear. It also seems to me that cans are made of softer metal that in the recent past. the flanges that the can openers grip onto seem to loose the form easier. **Q: Does it double as a bottle opener?** A: I received mine 4/20/18 and it has the most amazing bottle opener! **Q: Bought this product used it few times the metal surface starts to have rusty stain already. Always wipe it dry , low quality metal ??** A: I had the same problem. I bought this item thinking it's Made in the USA and won't have any problems with it. The thing got rusty after ONE wash. I only use normal dish soap, wipe area where my cloth can reach and then hang it dry on the dish rack. How do you guys take care of yours? Shall I just spray it with WD40?
