It's great in the winter for her to get under the shelter and snuggle in for the night. During the summer, she just lays on top of the whole thing, and is just as comfortable. My only complaint, and this isn't necessarily about the product itself: My dog likes to "dig" at the cushion for one reason or another, and she's worn the fleece lining on the cushion down to the fabric. If you're dog isn't prone to doing this, then I don't think it would be an issue for you.
