THEY WORK! *by C***S on September 5, 2018* So if you're thinking about getting these, my guess is that you may be a bit skeptical. I know I was. "How could putting a pair of sunglasses on at night possibly help me? It reduces light no matter how you look at it. I need to be able to see I'm not trying to drive in the dark!" Well... I was wrong. I had a job that required me to constantly be on the road early before sunrise and would be coming home late at night usually on the highway and usually tired. So after too many nights of suffering I caved in and got these. Day time glare had a way of getting at me also because I wear contacts so I got the day and night pair. The first early morning on a dark mountainous two lane road... I was honestly shocked. I couldn't believe it. I could actually drive normal again. I would ride together with other coworkers so previously (because the glare would be so blinding to me) I would wind up slowing the vehicle down until oncoming traffic would pass. Very annoying and time consuming. Not after getting these though. It's honestly liberating to be able to drive at a normal speed and not be blinded by oncoming traffic(especially those people with the ridiculously bright blue headlights). I paid full price for these and would do it again in a heartbeat. I realize that my pictures don't do them much justice but included them anyway. Taking a picture through glasses without causing a glare is kind of hard. But THEY DO WORK. The daytime glasses are okay. They are typical of polarized glasses so I wasn't exactly floored with them. The brown tint is different but they are still good. But if nighttime driving is proving to be a task... don't hesitate on getting these. You'll be happy that you did. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Does help with driving vision but fit is an issue *by J***B on May 18, 2016* Fit is the main reason for the reduction of stars. Bottom of the lenses stick out too far allowing light entry from below. The top frame will hit eyebrows when trying to snug it up closer to face. Unless your face is shaped like a beak, you may have same issues. Would have returned if other way around where there's light entry from top and the bottom frameless portion digs into my face. Other than that, these are very serviceable. They both do a good job of reducing glare (copper better than yellow) and providing what I consider added "contrast" to the field of view (yellow better than copper). They both work with yellow tint (copper is basically yellow with brown) to reduce blue to allow green and other colors to pop.Comfort: Very good. Lightweight and flexible. The rubberized plastic frame provides the rigidity to stay on and maintain shape but good flex so no squeezing of head. No issues with discomfort around ears or nose. Stays on without slippage. I think the rubberized material gives some traction to stay on. May slip if sweaty.Fit: This biggest drawback. Again, there seems to be a tilt forward causing a sizable gap between bottom of lens and face. Both copper and yellow suffer from this since they are identical in dimension. This may be due to the manufacturer's attempt to make these fit over prescription glasses.Glare reduction copper: Good. The polarization of the copper is very good (see pic). Test for polarized lenses by using another polarized lens and crisscross them so that the polarization direction are perpendicular between the two lenses. Light throughput should be at or near zero. You can use certain LCD displays which I did in my pictures. High light throughput when parallel, low to no light throughput when perpendicular. The copper blocks out almost all light.Glare reduction yellow: Meh. There is some polarization effect but it is mild. It may have to be that way or the lenses will become too dark for night driving. Mild or not, these are polarized as advertised. May be hard to see in my pics but there's definitely some light throughput reduction when turned perpendicular. What I do like about the yellow is that, to me, the "contrast" is better with it. I even use the yellow on overcast days when sunlight isn't an issue.Style: Non-offensive. Seems very generic which is a good thing. Won't win any style points wearing them but won't have people doing double-takes at you because of your ugly eye wear.Reason for three stars: I thought about returning them due to the annoying gap at the bottom. Some say the sides also let too much light in but I don't see this. Decided to keep them. 1 star - return immediately without question, 2 stars - thought about keeping but returned, 3 stars - thought about returning but kept, 4 - I like it, 5 - I love it. These fell in the 3 range.I bought this set after losing my normal driving shades. Wanted a cheap replacement as losing sunglasses is frequent occurrence. Ran into this and decided that some help for day and night is worthwhile. I will say that the copper, while good and designed for driving, is not huge leap over normal shades like my lost Tommy Bahamas for driving. If you already have shades to day drive with, save a few and just get the yellow for night driving. But I will say wearing these have become automatic now that I've had these a few days. I get in car and start, put on seat belt then put on one of the two glasses before pulling out of park without thinking so I guess these have made a mark on me.Note: I did not receive this free nor discounted for my unbiased review. I bought them at the full Amazon price. I did not give these to my husband or any other significant others to try and have them tell me about these in such detail that I can write an in-depth review second hand. I use these. I Spend three hours a day commuting, both in the daylight and after dark. Would recommend this product to anyone over 50 years old for driving at night, especially on rainy nights. I've read other reviews stating that the glasses made no difference. I'll bet those reviewers were younger people. Older drivers understand how the glare, when driving at night, gets worse with age. These glasses help with that!
