This book helped me narrow down my understanding of the material and the best practices of ITIL. Once I sat for the exam I felt very confident in the seat. I used 3 books to prepare for the exam: this one, Sybex Exam Study Guide and ITIL Complete Kit 4th ed. Each book played an equal importance in my success. In the exam I was quickly able to eliminate the trick or distracting questions and narrow down to the "Best" answer. I can't say "one book" is all you need but this study guide helped in my efforts in getting a full understanding of the material. I'm happy to say Thank You! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ As the title says, passed the exam the first time! *by M***7 on Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2010* Pro: Great coverage of topics of roles, functions, concepts, and ITIL life-cycle. By taking 620+ questions, you realize what "must-to-remember" and "good-to-remember" items for your exam. Toward the end of chapters, the further detailed answers and explanations are described, and, in my opinion, these brief wrap-ups helped me organizing my memory.Con: there is a couple of mis-print and typo in questions and answer options. For the first half of answer explanation is a little too simple. Some concepts and terms are too detailed and way beyond ITIL v3. Fundation exam coverage. Yet, they are still helpful to understand the concept (you don't have to remember them all).Summary: As the title describes, I did pass ITIL v3 Foundation exam the first time at the score of 77.5%. (Well, not super, but consider the fact that I am a foreigner and English as the second language). Took on-line course at work over the 30-day period and studied with this book less than a week! If you have basic concepts and knowledge of ITIL v3., this book would help you organizing your memory and understanding!!! ### ⭐⭐ Not completely without merit but questionable for Foundation *by C***N on Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2011* I just took and Aced the ITIL V3 Foundation Exam - Yay - so I quess I should know.I used this book in conjuction with other sources, for instance Skillsoft and the OGC Book on Passing the Foundation Exam. I found this book to have questions that were completely inappropriate for the Foundation Exam - for instance many of the questions I could not answer by referencing the OGC book at all - for instance Mintzbergs 4Ps of Service Strategy (is part of ITIL but) is not in Foundation but the 4Ps of Service Design are part of Foundation. Lots of typo's and inadequate explanations that merely reference the Syllabus are completely inadequate to fully explain many of the questions.I was happy to have something to work with - but this book is completely overkill for the foundation and some of the exams and just out and out inappropriate or poorly assembled....this led to me actually questioning my skills since other tests showed great result from other sources like the OGC book and this one showed results - some high and some low....there was only one way to see who was right - sit the exam and find out.
