Range cuts out outside of ten feet, not really 10 meters. This item spoiled me the more i used it and the range became its only flaw, but one that made me take off a star because it's just shy of perfect.If I'm not in the same room it will cut out. It nulls functions on a headphone with its own controls but not a big deal as they replicate those same functions on the clip... So essentially it would smarten up any old headphone by lightyears. Best surprise is the audio. It sounds way better than when directly plugged in due to this aptX integration and thats why its a bummer that range stinks. I would love to use this over plugging in at this point but you have to be so close to the device it kinda contradicts.I have had a pair of Bose sport headphones that I prefer due to their earhooks for years and I often use them to test as they are my usual wear. Until this device I have never heard bass in these headphones and this after using a ton of different android and apple devices. This should make a lot of future iPhone buyers happy at least. The value here is great. I have looked at similar devices for the past 10 years from clips to headphones and this one succeeds in the design and function balance better than any so far. With a soft touch front and overlying volume controls it's got a nice look and feeling. I did not try the earbuds that came with it but the initial tests are great with my own sets of headphones.I bought this to use while running with my Apple Watch, which has 2gb of space but only bluetooth accessible. I have an ipod nano plugged in a car that I used to use, but that back and forth combined with not using the feature in the watch motivated me to finding this type of niche device. I have used it most of a day and works great and track change via long pause on volume buttons work perfectly. Power button as pause/play work as expected. The soft red rubber on the side helps you know where the + and - are by touch alone. They should definitely make multiple colors but its still nice. The actual volume, however, is an override which means you have two volume settings: the source and the clip itself. I thought that was a shame at first but then you soon realize the amp in this device is better than what you get from source and it really does sound richer. A very cheap bluetooth DAC if you want to be blasphemous. At $30, its better than what was in these Apple /few flagship Android products I've had. They more or less sounded flatter in sound profile with little to no bass leading me to believe the headphones were to blame. Not entirely, because everything came to life, sounds separated clearly, and the bass! It actually exists.These are all genuinely first world irritations but this device allows me to just take the watch and headphones I already like without deviation. Like many people, I prefer having very little on my when running or working out. These let you go as light as possible while using any headphones you want. In general it is very versatile and you can essentially plug this into any audio speaker/headphone with a plug. It pairs with most devices with bluetooth and seems to be one of the few bluetooth clips with a long battery life.The audio upgrade alone was worth it, the convenience makes it a must have for those who need it. Its ultra compact and easy to use, hoping it lasts a while and stays the same price or cheaper. The only real complaint i have is range, but this seems to be the case with anything bluetooth and wasn't my primary concern. This comes bundled with a soft carrying case, charging cord, and even ear buds with tips .These will become very popular and a great gift idea. This is what Apple should make but they won't as it would hurt their Beats brand, new ear buds and others in the industry. If the general audience knew this existed they wouldn't buy terrible bluetooth headphones or have their daily cry about how they "need" to upgrade their headphones or use some dongle. This is a great concept and I hope its expanded on. The idea of a clip in general has always been more versatile and this does it real well.hope the range imroves unless i have a defective model. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My favorite of the genre *by M***S on Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2017* I was going to come here and kinda rake this thing over the coals. See, this morning the clip on this broke. It frustrated me - especially since I use it 6 days a week (rotating on and off with one of those "round" ones you'll see all over as "similar" to this one. I use this one until the battery dies then swap to a round one, charge it that night, and then a few days later when the round one's battery dies, I swap back to this) at the gym.Prior the the clip falling off, I LOVED this thing. Other than having a W1 chip in it (which would triple the price) it's been perfect. It sounds a LOT better than the round ones (it's not even close) which I have to assume is because of the later BT version and its range is slightly better, although not perfect. I can't walk all over the gym without losing signal.But yeah, there's that clip. Turns out it didn't break. The pin (which is about the size of a watch pin) just slipped out. Assuming you don't lose the pin and the spring (both small parts), it's relatively easy to put back together.So, as I pass 8 months of ownership, I can't really complain too much. Yeah, there's the niggling issue that the cap over the USB charge port certainly could be better designed - the tiny flap you use to pull it open seems like it could just fall off at any time, and when it is open to charge it, it practically covers the indicator light so you know it's charging.But beyond that, keep an eye on the clip's pin to make sure it doesn't slide out, and I'm fully OK giving this 5 stars. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I knew I wasn't getting the best receiver out there *by P***U on Reviewed in the United States on December 19, 2016* Bought this in September, dead in December. For the price, I knew I wasn't getting the best receiver out there, but it also wasn't the cheapest so I wasn't expecting it to die within a few months. In the beginning when it did work, I enjoyed being able to use my favorite headphones wirelessly. If you were looking for something that'll last you an entire work day, this wont work for you. I knew that prior to purchasing the device because the page stated 6 hours however I barely got 5 hours. I was ok with settling for 5 hours usage but then the charge time was horrible. I dont exactly remember how long it took but it was definitely at least an hour and I know it was way too long for a small device outputting 5 hours of usage. The connection quality was OK. If I had my phone in my pocket and the receiver clipped to my belt, every minute or so I would hear a split second gap. . . sort of like it was buffering. If I had my phone on the table nearby, they gap wouldn't happen.My biggest gripe was that it was very unreliable when it came to pairing. Didn't pair with my ipad, a friend's iphone (to name a couple), ANY laptop (mac or pc) but thankfully the one device it did pair with was my Samsung Note 3 and that was my main device.
