When I bought it, I fully intended to refill the toner cartridges, something I had done with previous inkjet printers. So, when the "starter" black toner cartridge (TN210-BK) gave a "low toner" indication and the printer stopped printing, I ordered a refill kit from Freshinkjets through Amazon. Their shipment came three days before I expected it to come, according to the earliest forecasted delivery date. THEIR PROMPT SERVICE IS WELL APPRECIATED!The shipment came with two (2) bottles of black toner, and one (1) each of cyan, magenta and yellow. It also came with an extra reset flag and spring (just in case?), an instruction sheet, and a few gloves to protect your hands from the toner. The one thing the new toner DID NOT COME WITH was new, replacement fill port plugs. It seems the old (original) ones will be damaged when removed and are likely to leak, so new replacements are essential. I had to order them from another company. Why could they not be available from the same source as the toner?Before I refilled my black toner cartridge, I immediately installed the reset flags and springs on all four (4) toner cartridges, being CAUTIOUS, GENTLE and OBSERVANT! Be sure to read and follow all instructions to protect your printer investment, especially if you have not done this before!I even watched a couple YouTube videos on how to refill the toner and install the reset flags so I would be ready when my shipment came. One of the things I noted in the YouTube videos was that they said to completely empty out the remaining toner before adding the new -- something I thought appeared wasteful! It appeared to me that the people who made those videos poured out almost a quarter of the valuable toner that was originally in the cartridge.So, when my shipment came, I just added the reset flags and springs to my "starter" cartridges and re-installed them in the printer, hoping to use up all the original toner and not throwing away any of it. Since I got fewer than 100 pages from my original toner cartridges, I made the logical assumption that there was still a lot of toner left. I was correct. My printer is now printing like it should -- on the original "starter" toner -- and without adding more. I will continue to print until the output shows signs of the toner being exhausted -- which is also a "green" thing to do in todays culture. I have also reset my printer to print in "draft" or "toner saver" mode to conserve my toner.I have one more thing to do before I need to refill my toner. I will buy four additional TN210 (BK, Y, M, C) cartridges and then install them when I run out. This way, I will be able to refill my empty cartridges at my convenience, and not be forced to do it in order to finish printing a project.I cannot evaluate the quality of the toner I received, since it will not be used for a little while yet, but will try to remember to do that when I start using it.Again, my appreciation to Freshinkjets and Amazon for their prompt reply to my order. I have been buying the after market brand of tn-210 cartridges for a couple years and am satisfied with them as I can get all four cartridges for equal or less money than one genuine Brother cartridge costs. It is the after market cartridge that I refilled. I did dump the old toner out and used a shop vac with a tube for cleaning electronics to clean out the cartridge. After replacing the toner, I simply put the original plug in, cleaned up the cartridge and placed it in an original shipping bag for protection. I did this will all four colors. I mention the plug because it came out and replaced with no problem and I noticed many people trying to refill the original Brother cartridge were having the plugs break on them. So far, I have only had to use the yellow cartridge but it was taken by the machine and is printing well. In the end, there was no way to keep the toner from eventually leaking from the damaged caps. I ended up tossing all 4 starter cartridges in the garbage that I had refilled with the toner. I ended up buying 4 brand new genuine Brother cartridges.I wasted time and money trying to save money -- next time, I will keep to genuine Brother cartridges for this printer.----------------------------------After the starter cartridges on my MFC-9125CN were gone after just about 200 pages, I used this kit to refill my TN210 cartridges, all four of them. First, the good things about this kit is that it includes the flag gears for use on starter cartridges.. Secondly, the colors seem to match the Brother colors quite well. If you have never re-filled toner cartridges before, however, you are in for a treat.First, it is a very messy operation.. You will end up having toner all over yourself.. This is a job that is best for outdoors. Second, and this is quite possibly the most critical part of the procedure -- your Brother caps on the original cartridges are not likely to survive intact. They are purposely made so that removal of the caps to perform the refill operation will likely damage them, leading to toner leaking from them once you refill. In my case, I was able to use a fiber-based sealant around the plugs to prevent them from leaking.. But you do have to be prepared that the integrity of the caps is likely to be compromised when you remove them.The bright side is that this entire kit is $60... A set of Brother cartridges is $200. If you are willing to deal with the aggravation of it, and prepared for the mess and coming up with a solution to re-seal the caps, its a good buy.
