You lay the larger part of grommet (one with lip) on the round jiggy with the post in the middle of it FLAT SIDE DOWN then put your fabric or item with hole punched in it on top of the larger part of grommet & then you put the other half of the grommet rounded side up on top of said fabric or item, you then take the rod with just the hole in it (not the puncher) AND SLIDE it over the rod with all 3 pieces are under it ready to be connected.. and give it a couple taps with a HAMMER. NOT TOO HARD and not too light & voila you are done!
