It is also well reinforced with straps that run the length of the bag where the carry handles attach and a reinforcement strap that runs to the bottom of the duffel where the shoulder strap attaches. Most of the inexpensive duffels just sew them right to the side of the bag and they tear out if you carry any amount of weight.I use this to carry my lunch, several cans or bottles of soda/water, and all my various accoutrements for work on a daily basis. The external pouches are also well constructed and rugged, the main body of of the duffel is one big compartment without pouches or dividers which is perfect for my use. I'm generally carrying 25-30lbs and occasionally carry 40+lbs but this seems like it could handle significantly more.I will say that pictures of the seam separation from another reviewer concerned me so that was the first thing I checked and I can report that my duffel was stitched perfectly, which is amazing considering how thick and relatively stiff the material and reinforcing straps are.
