The laces stay flat and do not roll or twist, unless you would have laced them that way, and when you tighten them and tie them they stay put. I am putting them in all of my boots. With the the many options! Your feet will never be dull! Definitely worth the cost per pair. I also have one pair of the spark laces and they function as the waxed laces do, but I did not like them as well. They were rougher on my fingers lacing the boots and tying them. Sensitive fingers I guess.
