A little smaller than I might have hoped but for the price and the quality of the hair it's a hell of a lot more than you would get with any other brand! It is very dense with great backbone, but also extremely soft especially after you use it a couple times. It whips up lather perfectly and easily with even the hardest of soaps, and didn't have that gross badger smell when I first opened which was nice. I've been using it for a couple weeks now and I've lost exactly 2 hairs and I blame that on pushing down, which the instructions specifically tell you NOT to do. But a well made brush shouldn't fall apart if you do, so I wanted to "test" it a little just in case.My recommendation, if you're looking for a step up in brush quality from boar or your starter kit badger but don't want to drop major coin. There are some obvious quality control issues on the handle. It's injection molded and the injection point on mine is very rough. The finishing process wasn't great. But, it is, at the very worst, a small rough patch, and at best, a minor cosmetic imperfection, and given the cost of this brush, it doesn't really seem realistic or fair to deduct a full star for it.Other than that, I have no complaints. The brush silvertip is definitely high quality. It's sturdy without being stiff. It's not scrubby, but it doesn't feel floppy. It's large and it's definitely not a high-precision brush. However, it loads easily, makes great lather, lifts well, and covers the face swiftly.If you are looking for a brush with a 52mm knot and you want two-band silvertip, you'd definitely be wise to give this one strong consideration.
