Review: Good anti seize - Good bottle of anti seize. Its nice having the brush built into the cap to make it easy to apply. However, since the brush sticks out, it dips deep into the bottle. Imagine something like that on a peanut butter jar, it will dunk down and coat way up on the brush, so the brush it really coated in the anti seize when you only want a small amount on the brush. Its somewhat hard to wipe the excess near the lid without it making a mess. Regardless the brush shaft has a lot of anti seize, no matter how hard you try to wipe, then wherever you try to apply might get excess where you dont intend. Its also like glitter, it gets everywhere and its a pain to get off. Brake cleaner helps remove it, but it is expensive. I have not tried degreasers or other solvents. It is a large bottle, more than anyone would need for one car, one brake job. Would last the lifetime of the car, probably the lifetime of 20 cars. Mechanics might run out of this bottle, but others would never use up all of it. I have seen some people try and use this as brake grease, but I do not recommend that at all. Only where you want two faces to not seize together from rusting, aka anti seize. The best place is the brake rotor to the hub surface. Some might apply a little to the outside rotor surface to prevent wheels from seizing, but I do not. I would not recommend using for the pad ears, clips, caliper slide pins, or other recommended grease locations. I am not sure of other common locations to use this, but rotors are the main one I am sure.
Review: Lug Nuts, Spark Plugs, Exhaust & EGR Assy, Marine, List Goes On - My last same-sized container anti-seize lasting me 30 years (home use), so my children will finish this one. About it: It's silver in color, 8-oz. container (a bunch), -65F - 1600F, Anti-Seize, -Corrosion and -Galling; has Lid Brush; label indicates "Made in USA". Specific Use: Ease assembly and disassembly of hardware which experience extreme temperatures and/or corrosive conditions. I've used this routinely, and sparingly for it does not take much - just a light swipe on threads, mating surfaces etc. Most of my last container went to lubricating boat and boat engine components for very good saltwater corrosion prevention. A general caution is: not apply to business end of sparkplug, O2 sensor etc (lightly on threads/sealing surface only) - else could impact component performance (never seen it happen lol). *UPDATE: I visited Permatex website - wished I'd done so earlier ... A summary: From Website Technical Data Sheets (TDS), This Permatex (80078) has ingredients of "aluminum, copper and graphite lubricants ... meets or exceed requirements of Mil Spec Mil-A-907E." Temperature Range: "-51F to 1600F" Flash: ">350F" TDS Applications: "Sparkplug threads, Exhaust & Engine Hardware, Brake Assemblies, Boilers, Ovens, Jet Engines and Turbines.", and does refer to a "Marine" use. Permatex Copper: This may be a preferred product due to seemingly inherent do-all capability: Dielectric grease, anti-seize, anti-corrosion to include mating surfaces of dissimilar metals. Specific from TDS, " ... designed for stainless ... contains a high percentage of micro-fine copper flakes in a semi-synthetic, grease carrier and fortified with high quality rust and corrosion inhibitors ... provides good electrical conductivity ... meets Mil Spec A-907." Temperature Range: "-30F to 1800F" Flash: "300F" TDS Applications: "Sparkplug threads installed into aluminum heads, Exhaust & Engine hardware, Oxygen sensors, Knock sensors, Thermostat housing bolts, Fuel filter fittings, Battery cable connections." Permatex Nickel: Specific from TDS, "Nickel Anti-Seize was designed specifically for use on stainless steel or similar alloys ... use where copper contamination must be avoided, under conditions of extreme pressure and temperature and with stainless steel, titanium and nickel alloys ... contains tenacious metals, oils and graphite materials that cannot be burned away or removed by slow moving parts." Product description also refers "protection of mated dissimilar metals." Temperature Range: "-65F to 2400F" Flash: "200F" TDS Applications: "Exhaust & Catalytic converter assemblies." Kyle

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can be used on aluminium lugbots for car wheels? is an alternative to Optimol TA paste?**
A: Yes as long as you torque wheel lug nuts properly. To the correct torque for your vehicle. I have been using it for years with no problems. And helps to keep rim and hub from corrosion and fusing together.

**Q: can i use this when replacing my brake pads?**
A: Yes, this is an option to apply to the brake pad backing to keep from galling to the piston cylinder, also retainers and contact areas where the pad slides in the caliper. Silicone grease is not a good option because it does not tolerate (and burns) >450F. High performance driving will push the brake pads past 800F.

**Q: After apply this, would it require more torque to secure nuts in place? I assume with this, it will take less force to unscrew the nut?**
A: if you look it up on you tube everyone says use less torque to tighten bolts since there is less friction and it lowers force necessary to remove bolts

**Q: Can this be used on spark plugs ?**
A: It can be used, sparingly as always, avoiding the very tip of the plug. Some manufacturers spark plugs recommend AGAINST the usage of the anti-seize... many modern plugs have coatings threads to avoid corrosion. Anti-seize usage is a carry-over from the days of "black"/uncoated plugs, like Autolites, which threaded into iron heads. I still use anti-seize today on plugs, just sparingly and the copper variety.
