I've had it for quite a while now and it's still as shiny as when it was brand new. It matches almost everything I own and I love the way it looks. A bit of advice: you'll want to make sure not to lose the key as it is the only way to take the necklace off. I put the key on the chain itself and wear it with the necklace. I think the picture shows the key attached to the lock. It has a keychain-type connector so the key is detachable, but it's quite difficult to do unless you have help.
