Paperback, may or may not durable or sturdy. Elastic closure put indents on the cover while in the box. Stickers are confusing and there are no instructions on using them. Right now, it is laying on my table and the cover is curved forward which is why the elastic is necessary. It looks classy. The price was right. The discount on the purchase was appreciated. The pen is also handsome although I'd prefer a mechanical pencil so my entries can be erased if necessary. It isn't what I expected although it looks exactly like the pictures shown.
