Great build quality for the price. Excellent value.I gave this 5 stars. If I really like a product I give it 4 stars. I reserve 5 stars for something that really impresses me. This impressed me!What I liked:The clamps on the sides are angled, so as they close, they pull the phone back towards the charging pad. This means you don't have to be extra careful that phone stays laid back against pad until clamps fully close. Drop it on, let the clamps worry about that. I believe this accounts for one reason everyone likes the charging on this unit, vs other similar products having very mixed reviews regarding that. I think on many of those other units, the clamps sometimes happen to grab the phone while it isn't laid fully back against the pad, so phone is much farther away than it should, and charging suffers. That won't happen here. Smart design!Another smart thing, there are cutouts on the rubber grips of the side clamps, so that the clamps are much less likely to inadvertently press the phone buttons as clamps close. I had that issue on a similar product that I had to return. I was specifically looking for something like this design that accounts for that. Smart!The way the clamps work is there is a pressure switch in the bottom bracket. The bracket drops down from weight of your phone, activates a switch inside, and this is what triggers the clamps to close. The bracket drops less than 1/8" as phone rests on it.Its important to note that the clamps won't open, or close, unless the charging port its plugged into, not included, is powered up. Since its likely you're using a cigarette lighter port with a charger plugged in, that means it probably doesn't have power unless car is on or ignition is in 'accessory' position (press start button without foot on brake, or turn key but not far enough to start car). So if you have phone in your hand when you get in car, and first place it on charger bracket to free up your hand to start the car, the bracket isn't going to close until you start the car.That isn't such a huge deal. Chances are you have the bracket set at a slight tilt facing up, since where you have it mounted is probably lower than your eye height, so you point it so phone faces up at you. That means when you lay the phone on the bracket, it stays put at first even though clamps aren't closed yet, won't close till you start car. Maybe if you parked on an extreme uphill facing direction this could be an issue (like if you lived in SF). If it was an issue for you, you'd just have to start car first, THEN place phone into bracket.It also means you need to release the clamps before you shut the car off. You will need to get used to this sequence. Otherwise your phone will be locked into clamps until you turn on power to socket.It charged through my Spigen case with no problem, about 4 mm.Note that you need to use a good charger to get the full fast Qi charge rate. Also note, Qi fast charging is nowhere near the same rate as power cord fast charging. It just means its way faster than 'regular' Qi wireless charge rate. Don't expect this, or any other wireless charger, to charge at same rate as power cord plugged directly into your phone.I didn't use the included mount, so I have no review of the vent mount or the dash/window mount. They seem well designed like the rest of this product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Seems Pretty Durable *by L***P on March 4, 2019* Like someone else mentioned, read the directions completely before assembling. I failed at those instructions but once I read the directions it was not too hard to figure out. The vent mount is what I used and although my clip was a little hard to open at first, it did finally work. The cell phone case does make the phone a little heavy for it so if that is something that bothers you, you can just take the case off while in use. The charge is pretty good and I like that my phone can be charging as I'm running around doing daily errands. So far this little mount seems like it will work for a pretty long time which is something I like because who likes having to buy the same kind of product over and over. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Two birds, one stone. *by K***U on March 18, 2019* I bought this for my husband for two reasons, 1) the man’s phone is constantly on low battery and 2) he doesn’t have GPS and is constantly looking down at the center compartment where his phone sits while using maps. This mount has honestly made navigation on his phone so much safer since it sits up high. I’m not sure how many almost accidents there’s been from him previously having to take his eyes off the road (even out of peripheral) for him to look down at the map or directions. We’ve also used it to charge both his LG V30 and my iPhone X without any problems. Just make sure you read directions because it is automatic.
