Review: Works Great! - I got a new Emotiva amp and was getting 120 hz hum and buzzing. I hooked up the Furman to all my home theatre equipment and the hum and buzzing was gone. Although then the bass was weaker sounding. The Furman does rob you of current to your amp. This would only be a issue for a power amp that draws a large amount of current. So I just plugged the amp directly into the wall. The bass sounded much better that way and the hum and buzzing was also gone. So the buzzing was coming through my AC system into the TV, blu ray player, and other devices. The Furman cleans up the powerline AC. I live in a very old house from 1888 with old dimmer switches so I had alot of AC line noise. But your computer or tv operates in nano seconds (millionth of a second) as it operates or refreshes its screen. So that is a basic explanation. If not, a GOOD power conditioner is very important on electronic devices. It should clean up irregularities in the generator vs line electricity. I also looked at the pl plus and I believe it is only rated for 120 volts. Is your equipment 220-240 volts if so you will need a conditioner that is rated for 240 volts. They are expensive!!If none of your equipment is 240volts you don't need a conditioner for 240 volts. Just because you hook up a bunch of equipment to the conditioner doesn't mean you need more voltage, it stays the same. But you need to watch how many amps you are pulling if you have a bunch of equipment and are pulling a bunch of power. They are rated at 15 amps, which means you can run 80% or 12 amps continuously through the conditioner and your electrical system (if the circuit is 15 amps). Are you in another another country which uses 240 volt power. If so get a conditioner for 240 volts. It would probably be rated for 20 amps. Big toroidal coil for filtering. Thick metal case, with grounding straps. Heavy gauge wiring where needed. I mainly bought it for the high/low voltage cutoff and the non-sacrificial surge protection. It does not affect the noise floor of my already quiet equipment. Note to those who think otherwise, this will not make your single coil guitar or noisy tube amp any quieter.
